Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name or case number in a search tool, the query is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and returns its result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email the site, the message may be retained so a response can be sent. It remains within the site’s operating team and is not shared outside that team unless a legal duty requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, our servers may receive basic technical details about the visit, including:
- The IP address assigned to the device
- The browser and version in use
- The device type and operating system
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- The time and date of each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on your device that can show which pages draw visits and where people leave. Analytics services may aggregate that traffic information. Browser settings can block cookies, although some features may work differently after they are disabled.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating the site and improving page load performance
- Passing a search request to the partner that handles it
- Measuring which pages are useful to visitors
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect browsing interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Echols County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record information. It provides general directions to the Clerk of Superior Court, the separate Probate & Magistrate office, and the Georgia Courts E-Access route for records held by the proper custodian. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Where its framework applies, the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§50-18-70 et seq., concerns requests for existing nonexempt public records held by an agency. Access to Echols Superior Court records is also subject to the Georgia Uniform Superior Court Rules, including Rule 21 and any sealing, redaction, or protected-identifier limit. Those rules govern the official custodian’s records, not data collected by this site.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes placed on some pages. Anything entered there is handled under the partner’s privacy policy rather than this one. Each partner decides how long to retain data and whether to share it, so review that policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to clerk pages, trial-court portals, Georgia case-record providers, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination’s privacy policy controls what happens there. Review it before supplying personal information.
Some advertising partners may follow activity across sites for targeted advertising. That tracking takes place on the partner’s systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Search providers that process queries submitted through their tools
- Analytics services that measure traffic and site performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on the pages
- Law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard security practices are used to protect information collected through the site. No internet-connected system is immune to every risk, however, so security can be supported but never guaranteed against a breach.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If information from a minor is identified, it will be deleted as soon as reasonably possible.
Your Data Rights
Rights can depend on where you live and which Georgia law applies. Nothing in this policy creates rights beyond those provided by applicable law. At a minimum, you may:
- Ask what information is held about you and request a copy
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask that information be deleted when applicable
- Decline certain forms of data processing when the law allows
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised from time to time. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date when a change is made.
